It might be an apple (Book)

It Might Be an Apple is a boisterous, philosophical shaggy dog story for young children and probably a few adults. The story follows a childs hilarious, wildly inventive train of thought through all the things an apple might be if it is not, in fact, an apple. Distrusting the apples convincing appearance, the childs imagination spirals upwards and outwards into a madcap fantasy world maybe its a star from outer space with tiny aliens on board? Perhaps it wants a cool hairstyle? Does it feel scared, or snore at night? Children can see what all these crazy, funny things might look like. This book is not only huge fun, but it also encourages a questioning, challenging approach to the world around us.

Library Mouse (Book)

Every child can be a writer and Library Mouse shows them how!

Beloved children’s books author and illustrator Daniel Kirk wonderfully brings to life the story of Sam, a library mouse. Sam’s home was in a little hole in the wall in the children’s reference books section, and he thought that life was very good indeed. For Sam loved to read. He read picture books and chapter books, biographies and poetry, and ghost stories and mysteries. Sam read so much that finally one day he decided to write books himself!

Sam shared his books with other library visitors by placing them on a bookshelf at night. Until there came the time that people wanted to meet this talented author. Whatever was Sam to do?

The joy of reading, writing, and sharing is brought to life in this warmhearted tale.

The better tree fort (Book)

“Let’s build a tree fort,” Russell says to his dad when they move into a house with a big maple tree in the backyard. His dad doesn’t know much about building, but he gamely follows Russell’s plan. Several trips to the lumber store later, the tree fort is done. There is no slide, balcony or skylight like Russell imagined, but it is perfect ― right up until he notices another tree fort going up three houses over.

When Russell goes over to investigate, he meets Warren, whose bigger tree fort has castle turrets and working lights. Russell is in awe until it dawns on him that it’s not worth worrying about who has the better tree fort when he has a loving dad there to build one with him.

In this subtle, humorous story, Jessica Scott Kerrin explores the idea of keeping up with the Joneses ― and what that means when you’re a kid with a tree fort. Qin Leng’s lighthearted watercolor illustrations show the unshakeable bond between a father and son, as well as the delightful details of two tree forts.

Little Bear Series (Book)

Luckily, Big Bear can explain where all these are coming from. “You and Me, Little Bear” is about when Little Bear is bored. Big Bear is busy cleaning and tidying the Bear Cave, but will Big Bear ever finish his chores and play with Little Bear? “Well Done, Little Bear” sees Little Bear thoroughly enjoying himself exploring, climbing branches and hopping on rocks. But Big Bear is always close by should anything happen -SPLASH!. “Sleep Tight, Little Bear” is a lovely little story about Little Bear making his own little cave in the rocks above Big Bear’s cave.
