For us, who have a different language of home, environment and school, teaching Persian to read and write is like breaking a giant horn. If you have you been able to get out of the first grade for your child, successfully, you owe a big thank you to yourself. We all stand up and applaud you. Your effort is so appreciated. We know that seeing and hearing the voice of your seven- or eight-year-old son or daughter clinging to the letters and reading has become a framed memory of your life. Glad you saw this day. Stick to it! We know it is difficult, but it is a pity that your child who has worked so hard to learn Persian, forgets it over time.

Let’s make sweet moments with our children, this is our goal!

The Frog in the Well – Tresselt Alvin (Book)

Once upon a time there was a frog who lived at the bottom of a well. The well was the frog’s whole world, until the day the well ran dry and the bugs began to disappear. What was happening to the world, the frog wondered, and what could he do? The hungry frog decided he must hop to the top of the well to see what he could of the end of the world. Conquering his fear, he peered out, and what did he see? Trees, flowers, meadows, marshes, and all kinds of end-of-the-world creatures! Entranced, the little frog ventured forth to find out more about the world outside his own. Based on a classic Chinese fable, and written and illustrated by the Caldecott-winning Alvin Tresselt and Roger Duvoisin, The Frog in the Well is a charming tale of one brave frog and his journey into wisdom..

The breaking news (Book)

When devastating news rattles a young girl’s community, her normally attentive parents and neighbors are suddenly exhausted and distracted. At school, her teacher tells the class to look for the helpers―the good people working to make things better in big and small ways. She wants more than anything to help in a BIG way, but maybe she can start with one small act of kindness instead . . . and then another, and another.Small things can compound, after all, to make a world of difference.

The Breaking News by Sarah Lynne Reul touches on themes of community, resilience, and optimism with an authenticity that will resonate with readers young and old.

Sulten (Book)

This book is the story of a duck who has become very hungry after playing with his friends in the forest. He loves delicious food but likes to eat all his food alone and without disturbance, but his friends are hungry too.

The book “Hungry” teaches generosity and kindness to the child in simple and pleasant language, without wanting to directly advise or talk to the child. This book is especially useful for children who do not like to share their toys and other belongings with others.

Hello lighthouse (Book)

A beloved picture book from two-time Caldecott Medal award-winner Sophie Blackall that transports readers to the seaside in timeless, nautical splendor!

Watch the days and seasons pass as the wind blows, the fog rolls in, and icebergs drift by. Outside, there is water all around. Inside, the daily life of a lighthouse keeper and his family unfolds as the keeper boils water for tea, lights the lamp’s wick, and writes every detail in his logbook.

Step back in time and through the door of this iconic lighthouse into a cozy dollhouse-like interior with the extraordinary award-winning artist Sophie Blackall.

Where bear? (Book)

This beautifully illustrated, fun read-aloud picture book will have kids everywhere asking the same question: “Where, bear?”

Once there was a bear cub who lived with a little boy. But over time the bear cub grew . . . and grew . . . and GREW! And did things that bears do . . . and do . . . and DO! One day the boy looked at the bear and realized he was just too big and bearish to be living in a house. “I think it’s time we found you a new place to live where you can be bearish and big,” said the boy. “But where, bear?”

From the only two-time World Book Illustrator Sophy Henn, here is a delightful journey that reminds us that even when best friends are apart, they always stay together.

When sadness is at your door (Book)

A comforting primer in emotional literacy and mindfulness that suggests we approach the feeling of sadness as if it is our guest.

Sadness can be scary and confusing at any age! When we feel sad, especially for long periods of time, it can seem as if the sadness is a part of who we are–an overwhelming, invisible, and scary sensation.

In When Sadness Is at Your Door, Eva Eland brilliantly approaches this feeling as if it is a visitor. She gives it a shape and a face, and encourages the reader to give it a name, all of which helps to demystify it and distinguish it from ourselves. She suggests activities to do with it, like sitting quietly, drawing, and going outside for a walk. The beauty of this approach is in the respect the book has for the feeling, and the absence of a narrative that encourages the reader to “get over” it or indicates that it’s “bad,” both of which are anxiety-producing notions.

The kissing hand (Book)

School is starting in the forest, but Chester Raccoon does not want to go. To help ease Chester’s fears, Mrs. Raccoon shares a family secret called the Kissing Hand to give him the reassurance of her love any time his world feels a little scary. Since its first publication in 1993, this heartwarming book has become a children’s classic that has touched the lives of millions of children and their parents, especially at times of separation, whether starting school, entering daycare, or going to camp. It is widely used by kindergarten teachers on the first day of school. Stickers at the back will help children and their parents keep their Kissing Hand alive.

Five nice mice in concert (Book)

Five Nice Mice is about a group of mice desperate to make music as beautiful as the frogs. The frogs aren’t very nice though – they tell the mouse to clear off. And so the mice practice and practise and are finally ready to give a concert to the mouse community. The frogs sneak in to listen and, because they are five nice mice, they allow them to stay and they make wonderful music together.
