Sophie’s old book of fairy tales gives Felix the adventure itch, so she is not surprised when her little bunny friend takes off in his flying suitcase to see the world, sending letters from such places as Dracula’s castle in Romania and Shanghai, China.

It happens on Sylt, Germany’s northernmost island: Felix the cuddly bunny is caught in a gust of wind and blows onto a tiny Hallig in the Wadden Sea. But that is only the first stop on his eventful trip to Germany, which takes him from the Wadden Sea up to the Zugspitze. Thanks to his seven-mile boots, the travel-loving rabbit can discover big cities, many sights and amazing treasures in his own country. But then he knows where his greatest treasure can be found – in Münster!

If Sophie hadn’t read about this extraordinary birthday surprise in New York, none of this would have happened. This is the only way that Felix comes up with the crazy idea of giving Sophie a very special birthday present. His search leads him on an adventurous journey through the whole world – and he is amazed at how different birthdays are celebrated in different countries!
